Janet Harris

Janet May Harris, age 84, of Olivet passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was born May 30, 1938, in Lansing the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Fifer) Cole. On May 27, 1961, she married Ivan E. Harris in East Lansing. Janet grew up in the city but moved to the country when she married Ivan. She grew to love the country and could never imagine raising her family anywhere else. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and making trips to the casino. Janet also loved all the animals on the farm. She would give each and everyone of them special care and attention. Her family adored her and she was a favorite aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.

Janet is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ivan; children: Robert (Lorraine) Harris of Pennfield, Charlene (Rodney) Hisler of Charlotte, Richard (Laura) Harris of Olivet; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cole of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Patricia (Don) Hiatt, Shirley (Donnie) Bessette; brother, Basil (Nancy) Cole, and Douglas Cole.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 2 P.M. at Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet with Michael Fuller officiating.
