Janice M. Reed

Janice M. (Granstrom Reed of Charlotte, Michigan Janice M. Reed, age 83 passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at her residence. Janice was born July 11, 1928 in Charlotte, the daughter of John and Rachel (Towe) Granstrom and was a lifelong Charlotte resident. She was a 1946 Graduate of Charlotte High School and in her early years worked as a Switchboard operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and served as a Volunteer at Hayes Green Beach Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and painting. She is survived by: her daughter, Teri (James) Stroud of Olivet; grandchildren, Jeff (Giovana) Reed, Andy (Bobbi Sue) Reed and Benjamin (Rachel) Stroud and four great grandchildren, Trystin Reed, Devin Reed, Alex Reed and Malcolm Stroud. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Thomas Martin Reed, son, Thomas Martin Reed, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, June and Bob Patrick. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte with James Baum officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the American Cancer Society or the Eaton County Humane Society.
