Jerry Allen Cooper

Jerry A. Cooper died peacefully on May 10, 2016 surrounded by his family. Jerry was born in Grand Ledge Michigan in 1938 to Claude and Agnes Cooper. Jerry was a graduate of Charlotte High School, Class of 1955. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. In 1963, he graduated from Ferris State University. For many years Jerry owned and operated his own business in Charlotte, Michigan. He married Carol Weitzel in 1966. Recently, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed many years together hosting family parties and sitting on the front porch of their small farm. Survivors include his wife Carol, daughter Lisa and his son Jeffrey (SuzAnne). Also surviving him are his extended family Dana and Wolf Paap, Dorothy Burrows, Philip and Debbi Weitzel, Alice Bonfante, several nieces and nephews,along with special friends Ward and Caralee Goodwin of Texas, Joe and LuAnn Stachnik of Charlotte and Mark Rosekrans of Charlotte. Jerry was predeceased in death by his parents and beloved sister Charlotte. A memorial visitation/celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 1:00 – 300 PM at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, Michigan.
