John Bruce Sherman

John Bruce Sherman of Eaton Rapids, MI, formerly of Charlotte, age 66, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. John was born November 11, 1946 in Charlotte the son of Julian and Betty Jeane (Bruce) Sherman. He was a 1964 Graduate of Charlotte High School and had served in the U. S. Army in Korea during the Viet Nam era. He had been employed at General Motors in Lansing for 12 years and later at Lansing Poured Walls from where he retired. Surviving are: his companion of 27 years, Alice Miller and her children, Dale Miller of Okemos and Melissa (Keith) Goodman of Earlville, PA and grandchildren, Bailey Miller and Amber Goodman; brothers, Fred (Sue) Wieting of Charlotte and Harry Edward Schmidt of Temple, MI; niece, Melissa Ann Wieting; nephews, Fred Wieting, Jr. and Scott Wieting; great niece, Logan Culp; uncles, Wallace (Myra) Bruce and Gary (Barb) Bruce; and aunt, Jeanne Scherrer. Per John’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 7:00 P. M. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte with Pastor John Bailey and Fred Wieting officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M and on Wednesday from 6-7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 S.
