John Franklin Hignutt

John Franklin Hignutt, age 54, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on May 1, 2022. John was born to Frank and Rita (Denman) Hignutt on July 4, 1967. He graduated from Lakewood High School with the class of ’86. From a young age, John loved electronics. That love followed him through life as he built and repaired radios. His passion in life was music and he had his own online radio station, WBGT 100.1FM, where he shared his favorites with his listeners. ELO was John’s favorite singing group. John spent many years working as a security guard in the greater Lansing region. He had a heart for others and spent countless hours volunteering his time at Charter House. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. John is survived by his son, Trevor (Allie McComb) Hignutt of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandson Wesley Hignutt; sister, Denise (Terry) Stevens of Woodland, MI; sister, Mary; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and his niece, Brooke Pennington. Per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no funeral services being planned at this time. Those desiring may make contributions in John’s honor to the family.
