John James Harris, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 12, 2024, reaching the age of 62 years old. John was born in Charlotte, to Richard and Sally Harris on January 2, 1962. He spent his growing-up years in the Charlotte community and graduated from Potterville High School with the Class of ’80. John continued his education at LCC and obtained his Associates Degree.
As a young man, John spent a few years serving as an altar boy during Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church where he remained a life-long parishioner. He was proud of his accomplishment of becoming an Eagle Scout. John was very good at computer gaming as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends at MSU. He found employment with the State of Michigan as an electrician. In that capacity, John helped string the lights on the Christmas tree at the State Capitol Building in Lansing for many years. John loved his family with a devoted heart and, while we are thankful his physical suffering is over, we will miss him deeply.
John is survived by his parents, Richard and Sally Harris of Charlotte; sister, Julie Harris (Scott Geller) of Hastings; brother, Andrew (Stacey) Harris of Charlotte; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Clara Harris.
