Jon Paul Griffin

Jon P. Griffin of Charlotte, MI, age 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at the McLaren Greater Lansing after an extended illness. Jon was born Sept. 6, 1945 in Charlotte the son of Guy and Bernice (Johnson) Griffin and was a life resident of Eaton County. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and had been employed by General Motors in Lansing from where he retired after 32 years of service. He attended the Eaton Area Senior Center and their Jamborees. He enjoyed Blue Grass Music, all kinds of sporting events, bike riding and especially enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Survivors include: his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth (Young) Griffin; son, Jon P. (Marion) Griffin, Jr. of Vermontville; daughter, Allison Griffin of Charlotte; honorary daughter, Dana (Chris) Carmichael of Poquoson, VA; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Ann Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lee, Ion and Ted Griffin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Pastor Irene Vittoz officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
