Jon T Harris

Jon T. Harris of Charlotte, MI, age 66 died Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at the Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. Jon was born Jan. 21, 1946 in Charlotte, MI the son of Alton and Isabelle (Shaull) Harris and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1964 Graduate of Olivet High School, served in the Army and the Army National Guard, was a lifelong farmer and had been employed as a Truck Driver for Meijers with 20 years of service. He previously had been employed at the A.E./Hoover in Charlotte. He was a member of the American Simmental Cattle Association and enjoyed the Cattle and Beef Business in general. Surviving are: his wife of 43 years, Jean (Greenfield) Harris; Daughter, Brenda (Tim) Taverniti of Swartz Creek; Son, Brian (Kilee) Harris of Bellevue; 2 grandchildren, Morgan and Gracie Taverniti; 2 sisters, Ruth Harris of Grand Ledge and Linda McCloud of Marshall and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Harris. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Jack Brown officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
