Katherine M. Howard

Katherine M. (Wright) Howard, of Charlotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at the Country Livin AFC Home, Olivet. Kate was born March 26, 1919 in Lakeview, MI to Ernest and Emma Liza (Wilson) Wright and was the daughter of Ernest, Anna (Balzer) and Emma Liza Wright. She was a resident of Charlotte for over 70 years. She was a 1938 Graduate of Charlotte High School, had worked as a cook in area restaurants including the former Dewey’s Koffee Korner. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte. She enjoyed fishing, supported all the Michigan sports teams, played cards with her family including all the grandchildren and her friends. She showed overwhelming love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren of which there were many. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Larry) Davis, Sharon (Ron) Partridge, Linda (Tim) Smith and Vicki (Gary) McCarn all of Charlotte and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also, survived by her three sisters, Beverly (Charles) Hadley of Burlington, Janet Bryner of Charlotte and Sally Buckley of Belding, Michigan; her brother Henry’s wife Alice Wright and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern in 1970; her young son, Gary in 1951; her parents Ernest, Anna and Emma Liza; her brother Henry Wright and her precious young grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2012 from 3pm-5pm & 6pm-8pm at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home.
