Kenyon Allen Sherman

Kenyon Allen Sherman Charlotte, Michigan Age 83 died at his home on Wed. March 19. Ken was born November 11, 1930 in Danby Township of Ionia County the son of Allen and Barbara (Kelley) Sherman and lived his entire life in Charlotte. Ken served in the United States Air Force and worked over 30 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Charlotte and was active in the Eaton County Democratic Party. Ken loved to play Golf, loved his friends and family, was an avid MSU Sports and Detroit Tigers fan, was a licensed Pilot, enjoyed Stock Car racing, Boxing, Bowling and pitching fast pitch Softball. He loved to eat (many friends called him "Super Vac") Ken was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 51 years, Betty (Smith) Sherman. Surviving are his four children, Vickie (Larry) Gingrich of Charlotte, Michigan, Sonya Ghastin of Lake Wales, Florida, Kirk Sherman of Grand Haven, Michigan and Kristy (Steve Titmus) Kenyon Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Brad (Stacey) Gingrich, Blake (Kari) Gingrich, Tyler & Gabrielle Sherman, Brian Harag & Shelby Kenyon, Dylan Ghastin, Lindsey Ghastin and Chelsea Scavarda; eight great grandchildren; Sister, Joy Hunt; 4 brothers, Dennis (Jenna) Sherman, Bruce (Carla) Sherman, Duane (Bobbi) Sherman and Douglas (Deanna) Sherman and Dear Friend, Jean Priesman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St., Charlotte with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte and on Monday from 10-11 A.M. at the Church.
