Kevin Doyle Place

Kevin Doyle Place, age 64, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018, at his home. He was born May 14, 1954, in Eaton Rapids the son of Howard and Twila (Greenslade) Place. Kevin was a dedicated family man. He loved spending time together with his family. He was sure to never miss one of his childrens or grandchildrens sporting events. Kevin enjoyed taking drives throughout the country side enjoying the scenery and stopping to visit friends along the way. He was always ready for a good time with his many friends and family. Kevin enjoyed being the center of attention and life of the party. Kevin was also a skilled woodworker and spent many countless hours creating many treasured pieces. He retired from Alto Gas in 2016, after many faithful years of service. Kevin is survived by his loving companion, Sally Geisenhaver of Charlotte; children: Brandon Olsen of Angola, IN, KC (Megan) Place of Middleville, Jennifer (Matthew) Preston of Hartland, Eric (Heidi) Place of The Woodlands, TX, Kurt (Kathy) Place of Charlotte; grandchildren: Brody Place, Sydney Place, Ava Place, Joey Place, Cameron Place, Caden Place, Ross Preston, Gavin Preston, Courtney Olsen, Skyler Olsen, Braiden Olsen; Sallys children: Greg (Sherri) Hall of Charlotte, Todd (Kelly) Bayes of Eaton Rapids, Montie (Stacie) Bayes of Eaton Rapids, Darren (Shelly) Warner of Eaton Rapids; siblings: Norma Jean Cribley of Eaton Rapids, Sheila (Richard) Heisler of Olivet, Robert (Darlene) Place of Lakeview, Merlyn (Sandi) Place of Olivet, Ronald (Laura) Place of Battle Creek, Daryl (Shirley) Place of Olivet; sisters-in-law: Laurie Place of Marshall and Dora Place of Eaton Rapids; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Zelmadene McHaney, Herrold Place, Phillip Place; brothers-in-law: Charles Cribley and Samuel "Jim" McHaney. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at 3 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 3 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring, may make contributions in Kevins honor to the Brookfield United Methodist Church.
