Lana Sue Joseph

Lana Joseph, 71, of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, April 23, 2017. Lana was born April 18, 1946 in Ocala, FL to Emily “Sally” and Robert Theodore Wood, Jr. She graduated from Ocala High School in 1964 and went on to graduate from Florida State University with a degree in elementary education. On December 26, 1970 she married David C. Joseph of Potterville, MI. The couple lived in Potterville until Lana’s retirement from Potterville Community schools where she taught at Potterville elementary for over 30 years. After her retirement, the couple moved to Lansing, MI and also resided part time in Ocala, FL. Survivors include husband, David Joseph; daughter, Angela Joseph of Lansing, MI; son, Andrew (Meghan) Joseph of Grand Ledge, MI; five grandchildren, Jada, Gabrielle, Allison, Jace and J.J., who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”; Siblings Jo-An (Bill) Whaley of Leesburg, FL; Teddie (Jerry) Gause of Ocala, FL; Joy “Cookie” Miller of Tallahassee, FL; Robert (Rosemarie) Wood of Dothan, AL; and many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Debbie Lee Wood. Lana loved spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family, and watching baseball games at Municipal field in Lansing. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Potterville United Methodist Church, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
