Lee J. Herrick

Lee J. Herrick age 82 of Charlotte, MI, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the Sunny Acres AFC Home in Madison Heights, MI after a lengthy illness. Lee was born Jan. 7, 1927 in Mason, MI the son of Frank E. and Myrtle (Bolock) Herrick and had been a Charlotte resident for about 55 years. He was a World War Two Army Veteran and had been employed as an Electrician for Owens-Illinois Glass Co. of Charlotte from where he retired in 1991. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #42 and V. F. W. Post #2406 both of Charlotte, was a member of Charlotte Lodge #120 F. & A. M. (PM), the Horace S. Maynard Chapter #82 RAM (PHP), Leslie Council Chapter #50 R. & S.M. (PTIM), Charlotte Commandery #37 KT (PC), the O.E.S. #218, the Scottish Rite, Saladin Shrine and Peace Lutheran Church. Surviving are: his son, Frank (Judy) Herrick of Madison Heights; his daughter, Linda (Scott) Prentice of Wyoming, MI; granddaughters, Sarah and Monica Prentice and his sister, Sharon (Franklin) Ward of Oakley, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie (Crane) Herrick on June 18, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at the Peace Lutheran Church, 830 N. Cochran, Charlotte with Rev. Sarah Friesen-Carper officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 A. M. until time of services at the Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
