Leilani Mae Mallard

Leilani Mae Mallard, age 80, of Potterville passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born June 20, 1937 in Lansing the daughter of Ashton and Alma (McCune) Nickerson. After graduating from high school Leilani went on to earn an Associates Degree in Interior Design. Leilanis family meant the world to her. She always looked forward to each and every opportunity she had to be together with her children and grandchildren. Leilani was an amazing baker. She was always working on perfecting her next culinary creation. Leilani was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was generous to a fault. If there was someone who she thought was in need she saw to it that they were taken care of. Leilani retired from Ford Motor Company after 29 years of service. She is survived by her children: Patricia (Ken) Haney of Arizona, Marchele Matherly of Florida, Tami (Travis) Hickey of Owosso, Dean Costello of California, Timothy Costello of California, Theresa (Kenneth) McDonald of Lansing; 2 step-children, Randy and Geoff Mallard; 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings: Georgia "Kay" Vincent (Rich), Starr Ferris (Rick), Kara (Bob) Morales, Allen (Marjean) Nickerson; brothers, Jon Bowles and David Bowles; and special friend, Bob Sterle. Leilani was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Francis Dean Mallard in 2015. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 N. Bostwick St., Charlotte.
