Leslie Herbert Peterson of Lansing, MI, formerly of Charlotte, MI died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans where he had been a resident for about 3 years. Leslie was born Oct. 28, 1942 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota the son of Herbert and Lorraine (Thompson) Peterson. He had attended Charlotte Schools, had served in the U. S. Army from 1961 to 1964 and had worked in the Tool and Die Trade. Surviving are: 3 brothers, Gary (Shirley) Peterson and Ronald Peterson both of Olivet and Martin Peterson of Charlotte; 4 sisters, Mary Dunn of Charlotte, Marlene (Darryl) Kilburn of Columbia, TN, Marsha (Brian) Mackenzie of Tennessee and Martha Gonzalez of Eaton Rapids and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; twin sister, Lois and nephew, Chris Dunn. At Mr. Peterson’s prior request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorial contributions may go to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans for resident activities. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI.
