Lester Keith Johnson

Lester Keith Johnson, age 84, of Vestaburg, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Keith was born October 3, 1935 in Sumner, Michigan the son of Alfred and Margareta (Hyde) Johnson. Keith was raised at the family homestead on Polk Road in Sumner Township. He went on to graduate from Alma High School in 1953. On November 25, 1970, Keith married Mary F. Pearl. They were married nearly 50 years. Keith retired after 40 years of service from Lobdell-Emery in Alma. In his free time Keith enjoyed spending time working in his garden, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Keith had a deep faith in the Lord and faithfully served him throughout his life. He was a devoted member of the Sumner Center Church of the Nazarene for nearly 40 years. Keith was a gentle man who always showed love and compassion to all he knew. Keith is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Tami Emmons of Vestaburg, Kim (Paul) Rumple of Florida, Troy Johnson of Alma; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and brother, Fred (Joan) Johnson of Sumner. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Ed Johnson, Dennis Johnson; daughter, Brenda Johnson; 9 siblings; and infant grandson, Johnathan Kaklo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 11 A.M. at the Sumner Center Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Harold Myers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the Ferris Center Cemetery. Those desiring, may make contributions in Keiths honor to the family.
