Joan Halsey of Bellevue, Michigan, age 86 died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek. Joan was born October 25, 1929 the daughter of Evan and Lillie (Brandenberg) Myers and had been a Bellevue resident for 19 years. She was a graduate of Larwill Indiana High School where she was Valedictorian of her class and was a was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue. She loved gardening, sewing, crosstitching, reading, and working crossword puzzles, but especially loved her family. Surviving are: six children, Christine Halsey of Potterville, Linda (Mike) Allman of Clearwater, FL, Bradley (Cindy) Halsey of Charlotte, Debra Burton of Kalamazoo, Mike (Pam) Cary of Charlotte and Cheryl Halsey of Bellevue; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Eddie Myers of South Whitley, IN and sister, Lois Bailey of Woodburn, IN. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thomas Halsey; daughter, Dee Ann Cary and brothers, Brent & Max Myers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Don Francis of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue officiating. Interment will be in the Perry Cemetery in Brookfield Township. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
