Linda Powers Smith, of Duck Lake, died on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Eaton Community Palliative Care. Linda had an almost lifelong association with Duck Lake starting at age five and becoming a permanent resident over 50 years ago. She relished the changing seasons at the lake and the beauty each provided. Linda was known for her beautiful smile and giving heart. She engaged everyone with compassion and understanding. In addition to being a very dedicated and attentive mother she managed to enjoy a 30 year career as a dental hygienist and the unselfish commitment to a number of charitable causes. Lindas life will continue as an inspiration for those who were fortunate enough to know her. Linda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dave Smith; four children, David Reed (Tracy) of Glendale, Arizona, Chris Reed (Elena) of Largo, Florida; Doug Reed (Jennifer) of Charlotte, and Sarah Reed (Rob Williams) of Charlotte; two step daughters, Lisa Feistritzer (Joseph) of Ada, Michigan and Amy Huff (Don) of Lansing; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brothers, John Powers (Peg) and David Powers (Chris); and her beloved Golden Retriever, Scout. Linda was predeceased by her parents, William Powers and Gertrude Powers of Charlotte. In keeping with Lindas wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 2 PM to 5 PM at Courthouse Square, 100 Lawrence Ave., Charlotte, MI 48813.
