Marcia K. Dewey of Charlotte, MI, age 73, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. Marcia was born Aug. 4, 1940 in Charlotte the daughter of Duane and Martha (Welsh) Wertz and was a lifelong Charlotte resident. She was a 1958 Graduate of Charlotte High School and had been employed as a Secretary for the Charlotte Public Schools from where she retired. Previously was a School Bus Driver and worked at the Felpausch Food Center. Marcia had served as a volunteer at the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital, the Eaton Community Palliative Care and the Charlotte Performing Arts Center. She enjoyed traveling extensively and will be remembered for her zest for life and love for her family and friends. Surviving are: her daughter, Teri (Steve) Troemel of Grandville; her son, Brian (Renee) Dewey of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Michael, Jared & Ashley Dewey and Chris & Josh Troemel; her sister, Angie (Fred) Earl of Cadillac; three brothers, Denny Wertz, Darry (Dee) Wertz and Don (Linda) Wertz all of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Verdetta Dewey of Charlotte; special friend, Larry Johnson and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 48 years, Thomas Dewey in 2009. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 P.M. and Saturday from 9-11 A.M. prior to the Memorial service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eaton Community Palliative Care, the McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice or the First Congregational Church.
