Margaret Jean Haysmer

Margaret Jean Haysmer of Charlotte, MI, age 96, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 in Charlotte. Mrs. Haysmer was born November 28, 1917 in Charlotte, MI the daughter of Charles Dorr and Mabel (Snow) Scott and was a lifelong Charlotte resident. With her husband, Harold Haysmer had operated a Barber/Beauty Shop on “Main Street” (200 block of South Cochran) in Charlotte for many years. She was a longtime member of the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church and its Deborah Circle and was one of the founding and active members of the Eaton Area Senior Center of Charlotte. Margaret was an avid fan the Michigan State University Athletic Programs, enjoyed P.G.A. Golf and animals, especially Dogs. Surviving are: her son, Philip Jon (Lunel) Haysmer of Pahoa, Hawaii; her daughter, Susan Ann (Brian) Abbott of Stuart, Florida; Grandchildren, Kathleen Marie O’Neill Moss, Robert Joseph O’Neill and Daniel Scott O’Neill; Great Grandchildren, Madeline Hayes O’Neill, Charlotte Jasmine O’Neill, Evan Michael O’Neill, Riley Lauren Moss, Emerson Claire O’Neill and Leighton Grace O’Neill. She was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Harold Haysmer and her sister, Phyllis Knowles. Per Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlotte with Pastor Gary Wales officiating. There will be visitation for one hour prior to the services and a reception/luncheon immediately following the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eaton County Humane Society or to the Charlotte District Library.
