Margaret Mae Wallace, 98, of Holland, Michigan died August 6, 2018, at Freedom Village in Holland. She was born December 18, 1919, in Climax, Michigan to the late Pearl and Marie Bidlack. Margaret grew up near Battle Creek, Michigan where she graduated from Lakeview High School in 1937. She then attended the University of Michigan. Her professional career was in social work, first in Battle Creek and Marshall and then in Lansing at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services where she retired in 1984. She loved her extended family, big band music, politics, and sports, especially basketball always rooting for the Michigan State Spartans. She was a member of Third Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan. She is survived by two step-children, Michael Wallace and his wife Elaine of Bedford, Michigan, Karen Stuckman and her husband Howard Tussing of Milan, Michigan; ten step-grand children, Susan Hosek and her husband Tom, Tim Wilcox of Bedford, Michigan, and Corey Wilcox and his wife Michelle of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sam Stuckman and his wife Eriko of New Haven Michigan, Mariya Wallace of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kirstin York and her husband Jason of Columbus, Ohio, Bethany Curtis and her husband Jeff of Champaign, Illinois, Wendi Damm and her husband Buddy, Jennifer Wallace of Battle Creek, Michigan, Robyn Gerber and husband Dennis of Barry County, Michigan; a nephew David K. Wallace and his wife Phyllis Wolfe of Rockville, Maryland, a grand-niece, Karen Wallace of Anchorage, Alaska, a grand-nephew, David G. Wallace and his wife Christa, of Chugiak, Alaska; 15 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grand children, 1 great-great-great-grandchild. Lynn Wilcox and Richard Wallace preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Burkhead-Green Kilgo Funeral Home, 206 W. Lawrence Avenue in Charlotte, Michigan with burial to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Garden in Battle Creek, Michigan. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Burkhead-Green Kilgo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Third Reformed Church, 111 West 13th Street, Holland, Michigan 49423.
