Marilyn Jean Fox

Marilyn Jean (Shiels) Fox, age 81 of Charlotte, MI, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Born Sept. 16, 1931 to Walter Earl and Beulah Mae Shiels in Grand Rapids, Mich., Marilyn is now awaiting the loving awakening call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marilyn lived most of her life in Charlotte, serving her community in the capacity of a Licensed Practical Nurse working with child birth and nursery duties at Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital. She became known to many in the community as “Aunt Marilyn.” A talented seamstress in all respects she sewed many articles of clothing for family and friends. She traveled far and wide with her sister Betty researching family genealogy. Another attribute was her talent in starting the Dorcas Society of Charlotte. A great enjoyment for her was the compilation of her 50th class yearbook. She was preceded in death by her parents, one older sister, Betty Arlene Rolfe of Eaton Rapids and a younger brother, Walter James Shiels of Snelling, CA. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, (Clyde) Arthur Fox; two sisters, Patricia (Hutchison) (Fred) Chapman of Pomona, MO and Mary Ann (James) Orrison of Cleveland, TN; four children, Marcie (Paul) Racine of Vermontville, Robin Fox, Marty (Eileen Kane) Fox of Charlotte and Nancy Fox (Carey) (Scott) Anderson; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Jeff Dowell, Pastor of the Charlotte Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Following the service a meal will be provided for family and friends at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1516 S. Cochran Road. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
