Marlene J. (Green) Cardenas of Vermontville, MI, age 79 passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 with her loving family at her side. Marlene was born Nov. 26, 1933 in Charlotte, MI the daughter of Hugh and Frankie (Deller) Green and was a lifelong area resident. She had attended Charlotte High School and was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte. Surviving are: her husband of 40 years, Thomas Cardenas; Children, Gary (Amy) Brown of Vermontville, Charlotte (Jeff) Whitson of Olivet, Brad Brown of Vermontville, Mary Ellen (Ryan) Pertler of St Johns, John Raymond (Jaymie) Cardenas of St. Johns and Tom (Denise) Cardenas of Byron Center; 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, June 17, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St., Charlotte, MI 48813. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home of Charlotte and from 10-11 A.M. Monday at the Church.
