Marvin E. Wilber of Charlotte, MI died May 24, 2016 at home after a battle with gall bladder cancer. He has donated his body for research so maybe they can find a cure. He was born July 1, 1938 in Lansing to Charles H. and Thelma L. (Brockman) Wilber and went to Sexton High School. He later joined the Marines and then later joined the Air Force. Marvin worked at the parts warehouse of General Motors for 29 ½ years. When he retired he formed a business to do consulting for GM in Mexico, Canada and US, then in 1995 he purchased H R Machining in Charlotte. He loved to bowl, fish, golf and of course his love of the casino, but most of all he cherished his family and the camping and fishing together. Marvin bowled his first 300 game when he was 60 and then got another when he was 65. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; daughter, Marlene Wilber; son, Mark (Terri) Wilber; 5 grandchildren, Tatum Cary (Jason), Taylor Earl, Zachary Bowden, Marki Wilber and Brent Wilber and 3 great grandchildren, Brice Cary, Daxon Earl Dowker and Karmen Bowden. He was preceded in death by his parents. At Marvin’s request, there will be no memorial service. A Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte.
