Mary Ann Masters

Mary Ann Masters of Charlotte, MI, age 91, died Saturday Feb. 28, 2015 at the Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital after a short illness. Mary was born Aug. 10, 1923 in Detroit, MI and grew up on a farm in Buhl, Idaho before moving back to the Charlotte area to attend High School. She met her future husband, Marlin Masters when he was home on leave from the War in the Pacific. They married soon after and raised their three children. Mary loved working in her gardens and was very proud of the appearance of her yard. She had been employed as a Secretary at the General Aluminum Products of Charlotte from where she retired after 20 years of service. Prior to that she had been employed at the Newberry’s Dime Store and the Wilcox-Gay Corp. of Charlotte. Surviving are: her three children, Randy (Julie) Masters of Charlotte, Kim (Mary) Masters of Kentwood, MI and Karen Masters-Burns of Lansing; 5 grandchildren, Allie & Regan Masters, Jolie Masters, Dillon Burns and Benjamin Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marlin B. Masters in 1998. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, with Rev. Lori O’Dea officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
