Matthew Allan Babcock

Matthew Allan Babcock, age 42, of Olivet, passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident Friday, August 10, 2018, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born March 29, 1976, in Charlotte the son of Mike and Raejean (Moon) Babcock. Matt loved life and always lived it to its fullest. He was passionate about his Harley Davidson and enjoyed living the biker lifestyle. Matt looked forward every year to his trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. This was a place he felt in his element and he enjoyed every moment. Matt owned and operated First Class Trucking in Olivet. He was a fiercely devoted family man and always saw to it that his wife and kids were first in his life. Matt is survived by his wife, Jamie (Rach); daughter, Chloe Rae (Tyler) Jackson of Georgia; son, Trevor Babcock of Olivet; mother, Raejean Babcock of Potterville; father, Mike Babcock of Olivet; sister, Nicki (Matt) Sims of Albion; best friend, Mike J. (Meghan) Knoll of Bellevue; grandfather, Richard Babcock of Olivet; grandmother, Shirley Moon of Charlotte; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillian Babcock; grandfather, Harold Moon; and step-grandmother, Pam Babcock. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 1 PM at the family home, 6151 S. Ainger Rd., Olivet, MI 49076. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the house. Interment will follow at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet. Those desiring, may make contributions in Matts honor to his family.
