Max K. Brown

Max K. Brown, Sr., age 95 of Charlotte, MI died Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care. Max was born Oct. 16, 1917 in Carmel Township of Eaton County, the son of Wilson and Verna (Kohn) Brown and was a longtime resident of Charlotte and had also lived at Duck Lake. He had served for a short time in the U. S. Army near the end of World War Two and had been employed as an Industrial Gas Service Man for Consumers Power Company retiring in 1975 after 30 years of service. He joined the Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department in 1947 where he served many years and maintained a V.I.P. Status with the Department in retirement. He was a member of the American Legion, was a 33rd Degree Masonic Lodge member and was a member of the Airstream Travel Club. He and his wife had wintered for many years in San Benito, Texas. Surviving are: three children, Anita (Ken) Briggs of Charlotte, Max (Shelly) Brown, Jr. of Charlotte and Bill (Darla) Brown of Williamston; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Ruth H. (Noviss) Brown in 2011. Public visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. Private family graveside services will be held.
