Michael A. Rooney

Michael A. Rooney of Charlotte, MI, age 57, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at the Hospice House of Mid Michigan with his loving family at his side. Michael was born May 12, 1959 the son of Philip and Laura (Wing) Rooney and had been a Charlotte resident since 1975. He was employed in the Maintenance Department of the Eaton County Physical Plant with 27 ½ years of service. He previously had been an employee Aluminum Extrusions in Charlotte. He was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing and antique shopping. Surviving are: his wife, Debra (Smith) Rooney; 2 sons, Michael Rooney and Jason Rooney both of Charlotte; 3 step-daughters, Melanie Asher, Amanda Asher and Crystal Asher all of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren; his parents, Philip and Laura Rooney of Charlotte and 2 brothers, Dave Rooney and Philip (Jeannette) Rooney both of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Don Francis officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. www.burkhead-greenfuneralhome.com
