Michael James Mcleod

Michael James McLeod, age 63, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 10, 1955, in Escanaba, MI the son of George and Anne (Shepeck) McLeod. Mike graduated from Fowlerville High School with the Class of 1973. On August 19, 1977, he married Julie Ann Estes. Mike was a huge MSU and Bill Murray fan his entire life. He also was a collector of Anheuser- Busch and golf memorabilia. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He had a magnificent sense of humor and enjoyed being with others. Mike was employed in his earlier years at McLeod Sod Farm in Grand Ledge. He was currently employed at ALRO Steel where he has worked for the past 22 years. Mike is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters: Cortney (Charles) Emerson of Charlotte, Cari (Orande Shaw) McLeod; grandchildren: Benjamin Emerson, McKenzie Emerson, Dimitry Shaw, Roman Shaw, Elena Shaw; mother, Anne Curtin; siblings: David McLeod, Cynthia Bowling, Thomas (Lori) McLeod, Matthew McLeod, Peter (Tonia) McLeod; uncle, James (Maureen) McLeod; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George McLeod. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 11 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Pastor Marilyn Armstrong-Mathews officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 1, 2019, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Those desiring, may make contributions in Mikes memory to the family. These contributions will be used locally to benefit those in need.
