Miles Charles Shrontz, age 80, of Coral Springs, Florida, formerly of Charlotte, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018, with his loving family by his side at his home. He was born on August 21, 1937, to Clair and Mildred (Hooper) Shrontz. He graduated from Olivet High School in 1956. On June 14, 1958, he married Myrna Harris. Miles worked at Aluminum Extrusions (Hoover Universal) in Charlotte, Michigan for many years. He and his family lived in Brookfield, Michigan until moving to Elgin, Illinois in 1980 to work for Abrading Systems. He subsequently moved to Florida in 1985 to start a machine shop for Crissman Manufacturing. In 1990 he opened his own machine shop, Beneco, Inc., where he worked until he retired in 2003. Miles was a skilled woodworker and craftsman who took great pride in his work. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Most of all, he loved his family and delighted in the children in his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Coral Springs, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Myrna; daughters: Linda (Joseph) Ellsworth of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Lisa Shrontz of Coconut Creek, Florida; son, David Shrontz of Cape Coral, Florida; grandchildren, Austin (Allison) Ellsworth of East Lansing, Michigan, and Amber Ellsworth (Isaac Chenier) of Jackson, Michigan; great-grandchildren: Joseph Chenier, Madison Chenier, who to Miles delight was born on July 19 of this year, and Margaret Ellsworth; brothers: Dean (Esther) Shrontz of Olivet, Michigan, Darrel Shrontz of Belvidere, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Clair and Mildred Shrontz of Olivet, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 11 A.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bosworth Cemetery and a dinner will be held at 1811 S. Royston Rd. in Eaton Rapids, MI following the burial service. Those desiring may make contributions in Miles' memory to the American Cancer Society.
