Nina Mae Sober, age 81, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born August 29, 1939, in Williamston, the daughter of Gustav and Helen (Stevens) Foess. Nina graduated from Williamston High School with the Class of 1957. On June 29, 1957, she married Wayne Sober in Williamston. Nina adored her family and cherished each and every moment they spent together. Nina was a faithful servant of Christ and loved singing and teaching Sunday school. She was a member of New Hope Community Church in Charlotte. She enjoyed working in her gardens, watching birds, quilting, and spending time outdoors. Nina is survived by her children: Evert (Kollene) Sober of Charlotte, Brenda Sober of Potterville, Ernest (Regina) Sober of St. Johns, Joshua (Cheryl) Sober of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne in 2011; daughters: Vicky VanDyke in 2020; Evelyn Linton in 2018; siblings: Betty Wilbur, Evelyn Foess, and Ernest Foess. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 3 P.M. New Hope Community Church with Pastor Randy Royston officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, that you would consider planting a flower or plant in her memory at your home. Those desiring, may make a contribution in Nina’s memory to the charity of their choice.
