Patricia Ann Carpenter

Patricia A. Carpenter of Olivet, Michigan, age 83, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Dimondale Nursing Care Center after an extended illness. Pat was born Dec. 6, 1932 in Albion, MI the daughter of Edward and Nina (Merrill) Fitts and had been an Olivet resident since 1961. She was a 1951 Graduate of Albion High School and had been employed by State Farm Insurance, Boorn’s Tavern in Charlotte and the State of Michigan Treasury Department from where she retired. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Charlotte and the Charlotte Eagles Aerie #3552 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Bowler having served as the League Secretary, had been a 4-H Leader with the Walton Wonders 4-H Club and was an accomplished Seamstress. She is survived by: 3 sons, David (Holly) Carpenter of Bellevue, Scott (Shawn) Carpenter of Olivet and Brent Carpenter of Buford, GA; 2 daughters, Cathy (Ron) Rockafellow of Eaton Rapids and Deanne Jensen of Warren, MI; 6 grandchildren, Kyle Carpenter, Brendan Jensen, Claire Carpenter, Benjamin Carpenter, Megan Jensen and Samantha Jensen; 2 brothers, Phillip (Cette) Fitts and Jim Fitts and 2 sisters, Frannie Walsh and Jean (Carl) Weiskittel. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband of 39 years, Dennis H. Carpenter in 2000; son, Christopher Carpenter in 1976 and 4 siblings, Robert Fitts, Marilyn Neering, Marge Carroll and Barbara Bogner. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July30, 2016 a the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlotte with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop officiating and Rev. Charles Jenson presenting the Eulogy. Visitation will be held from 3-5 and 6-8 PM on Friday at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with the Rosary being prayed and the Eagles Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Interment will be in the Lee Center Cemetery in Lee Township, Calhoun County. Memorial contributions may go to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
