Patricia Ann Strouse

Patricia Ann Strouse, age 79, of Dewitt went to her eternal reward on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Mother Teresa House in Lansing, with her family by her side. She was born April 16, 1938 in St. Johns, MI the daughter of Harry and Isabel Lance. On June 15, 1957 Pat married the love of her life Frederick J. Strouse Sr. in St. Johns. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished every opportunity to be together. She enjoyed listening to country music, playing BINGO at the St. Johns Senior Center, and all the festivities around Christmas time. Pat was known as the “cookie lady” to her many students she had the privilege of serving as a cafeteria worker at the Shavey Road Elementary School in DeWitt. She was an active member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt. Pat is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years Fred; sons: Robert (Susan) Strouse of DeWitt, Fred Strouse Jr. of Lansing; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings: Berdina (Virgil) Pratt of St. Johns, Guy (Marlene) Lance of Tennessee, and Ernest (Maxine) Lance of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Strouse in 2013; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters. Funeral Mass for Pat will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Catholic Community of St. Jude with Rev. Fr. Anthony Strouse celebrating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with a Scripture service at 7 P.M. at the church and one hour prior to Mass on Thursday. Interment will follow at DeWitt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions in Pat’s honor to the Mother Teresa House or the Catholic Community of St. Jude Building Fund.
