Patricia Louise Adams

Patricia L. (DeForest) Adams of Charlotte, MI, age 76 died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014 at the Healing and Recovery Center in Charlotte after an extended illness. Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 22, 1938 in Marion, MI the daughter of Donald and Mabel (Collins) DeForest. She had been a Charlotte resident from 1954 to 1990 and in Mio, MI from then until 1 year ago when she returned to Charlotte to be near family. She had been employed as a glass cutter and Aluminum welder at the General Aluminum Products Co. with 10 years of service. She had volunteered at the Eaton County Genealogical Society and held memberships in the Charlotte, MI and Comins, MI Eagles Lodges. Surviving are: 2 sons, Monte Shumaker and Tom Shumaker both of Charlotte; daughter, Norma (Kevin) McLeod of Potterville; 6 grandchildren, Brian & Briana Shumaker, Marci McLeod, Codi & Chase Shumaker and Michael Tyler Fox; brothers, David and Phillip DeForest; sister, Lila Martin; brother & sister in-law, Dave & Dawn Adams and Cousin & special friend, Marilyn Salyer. She was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Don Shumaker in 1986; second husband, Byron Adams in 2012; daughter, Lisa Hood in 2012; sister, Mary Bowman and brothers, Melvin Bowman and Don DeForest. A Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Jeff Burpee officiating.
