Raymond W. West, 74, of Charlotte and formerly of Frankenmuth, died September 7, 2016. Ray was born to Bon and Cecil West in Nashville, Michigan, was a 1960 graduate of Nashville High School and retired from Farm Bureau Insurance after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jo Ann; children, Nicole (Brandon) Swafford of Battle Creek and Michael West of Traverse City; grandson, Evan Swafford; brother, Ron West; mother-in-law Shirley Sleight; brothers-in-law Jim (Barbara) Sleight and David Sleight; sisters-in-law Donna (Steve) Davidson, Lou (Jim) Bartolacci and Lora (Bob) Zenz, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loretta Leedy, Sally Musser, and Bonita Engel; and father-in-law Charles “Joe” Sleight.
