Richard George Tate, Jr.

Richard George Tate, Jr. Charlotte, MI Richard George Tate, Jr., age 75, Michigan Army National Guard retired, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing. Mr. Tate was born July 1, 1935 in Detroit, MI, the son of Richard George & Helen E. (McMann) Tate. He attended elementary and high school in Dearborn, MI and had attended Michigan State University. He retired from the Michigan Army National Guard with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion in Indiana and was a Masonic Lodge member. Surviving are: his loving wife, Ireta Mohre Tate; Sons, Richard (Angie) Tate III and James (Lorrie) Tate; Daughters, Cherie (Mohre) Oxender and Renea Mohre; 7 grandchildren, Sara, Michael, Curtis, Ryan, Jessica, Christopher and Megan Tate; Great grandchild, Ayden Decess; Brother, Michael Tate and Care provider & family friend, Deanna K. Baker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with the Michigan Army National Guard Chaplain officiating. Interment with full Military Honors provided by the Mich. Army National Guard will be in the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. both Monday and Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to the Army Emergency Relief Fund. www.burkhead-greenfuneralhome.com.
