Richard L. Lowe of Bonita Springs, FL , formerly of Vermontville, MI, born January 22, 1926, passed away on March 25, 2016, while in Hospice Care in Naples, FL. He was born the second son of Calvin and Velda Lowe, raised on a farm in Vermontville, MI. He began his adulthood as a paratrooper in the Army during WWII. After discharge, he started his business career with a bottled gas company (Lowe Brothers and Dad) in Charlotte, MI; he then progressed to building and owning off campus apartments near Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. His passion for construction brought him to Naples, Florida in the early 1980’s, where he worked with Miles Collier, of Collier Enterprises, developing multiple commercial buildings in the area; most notable, The Pavilion, and his favorite, The Collier Automotive Museum, now the Revs Institute. He is survived by his son, Wade (Ashley) Lowe of Estero, FL, his daughter, Terri Taylor of Nashville, TN; his grand children; Nikki, Adam and Aarons Myers, Hudson and Leighton Low, and his ex-wife and best friend, Laine Prevost. He is preceded in death by and ex-wife, Carla Pentecost of Vermontville, MI in 2004; and a son, Bradford Douglas Lowe in 1970. Also surviving is his brother, Douglas (Janis) Low; sister-in-law, Virginia Low; niece, Cindi Freiberg; and nephews, Brent Lowe, Kent Lowe, David Lowe and Dick Lowe. Known for his never ending with and intelligence, Richard Lowe was an amazing business man, phenomenal father, wonderful son, and tremendous friend to all withing his close circle. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte, Michigan with the Reverend Philip Hobson officiating.
