Rob A. Lilly

Robert "Rob" Alan Lilly, 47, of Charlotte passed away on August 4, 2017 in Charlotte after a battle with cancer. He was born July 22, 1970, the son of Darwin Lilly (deceased) and Sharon (Urie) Lilly. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1988. Rob worked as a truck driver for Davis Construction for the past 17 years, but his true passion was farming. Whenever he had extra time he helped on the family farm originally owned by his grandparents. In Rob's spare time he loved helping others and having fun. He would often work on tractors for family and friends. He loved to roast pigs for special occasions, many stories have been told about the long nights while roasting, even his latest roast had some interesting events during the night. He loved spending time with his friends, whether it was a snowmobile trip or finding ways to torture Jason as a youngster. He also enjoyed his trips to the casino. And who can forget Rob's smile, it came out when he would pick or was up to something clever. He also was well known for his picture pose, it was helpful in identifying him in photos. Rob is survived by his mother, Sharon Lilly of Charlotte; siblings, Cheryl (Chad LaRue) Worden of Olivet and Jason (Jodi Johnson) Lilly of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Blake Worden, Samantha Worden, Dana (Ben) Spraque, and Cody (Liz) Worden; and many more extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Charles and Marjorie Urie, Harry and Ester Lilly; and uncles, Chuck Urie and Jack Urie. A celebration of Robs life will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 5 PM at 501 W. Vermontville Hwy., Charlotte, MI 48813. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 PM - 4 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte. Interment will take place at Needmore Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in Robs memory to the family to help cover expenses.
