Robert Blommer

Robert Blommer of Charlotte, MI, age 75, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Hospice House of Mid Michigan in Lansing. Bob was born September 14, 1940 in Detroit, MI the son of Howard and Julia (Hajnos) Blommer and had been a Charlotte resident since 1966. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran receiving his Honorable Discharge in September of 1963 and had been employed by the Fisher Body Division of General Motors after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman. Surviving are: three sons, Stephen Blommer of Grand Rapids, Scott (Sandy) Blommer of Charlotte and Kevin (Lynda) Blommer of Bellevue; seven grandchildren, Michael (Courtney), Kristin (Jake), Jason (Heather), Robert, Cody, Ken (Hope) and Shy (Robert); eight great grand children; brothers, Tom Shipley and Donald Blommer and sister, Beverly Blommer. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, David Shipley; sister, Ann Olmstead and his wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Codi) Blommer in 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Charles Jenson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment with U. S. Navy Honors will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Charlotte.
