Robert Bruce Witwer

Robert Bruce Witwer, 87, of Charlotte, Michigan, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio, left this earth peacefully Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at his home in Charlotte, MI. He was born March 7, 1930, to Warren Witwer and Mary Jones. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Moselle, Patricia, Betty and Phylis, brother James, daughter Deborah, and granddaughter Shelby. Bob, also known as "Frog," had a deep faith. He loved bowling and playing golf with his wife, son and friends. He was a proud alumni of The Ohio State University and spent his professional career as an insurance adjuster and retired as a State of Michigan corrections officer. He spent his entire life caring for others, loving the beauty of this world, laughing, telling stories and spending time with his beloved family. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judy, sister Michael Ann, children, Pamela (Jim Ebright), Bruce (Angela), Robert, William Jaynes (Sue), Debra Cook (Jeff), Teresa Mendez (Alex), 16 adoring grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Bob's love of life, big laugh and personality, and incredible generosity will leave a large void in all of our lives and will be missed deeply. Visitation will be held at noon Friday, April 21, 2017, with a funeral service following at 2 p.m at Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, 206 W. Lawrence Ave., Charlotte, MI. Pallbearers serving the family are Jeffery Cook, J.R. Artibee, Jordan Young, Randy Brown, Dean Grant, Jim Ebright and William Jaynes.
