Roberta A. Cook, 82 of Charlotte passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2012 after an 8 year courageous fight with lung cancer. She was born June 18, 1930. Daughter of Carl & Alta (Beals) Hull. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ellis. One son, Chris (Mashyl) Cook of Charlotte and two daughters, Karen (Bob) Schmader of Hastings and Sandra Garvie (Randy) of Charlotte. Grandchildren, Matthew (Tracy) Schmader, Ryan (Julie) Schmader, Suzanne Schmader (Mike), Alex (Julie) Cook, Jenifer Cook (Mike), Rachel Church (Tony), Brad Cook, Jason (Jessie) Garvie, Justin (Jessie) Garvie, Erin (Doug) Spencer, Lynsey (Mario) Saldana, Jordan Milbourn and 18 Great Grandchildren. Sister, Eva Jane Robbins of Indiana. Also her very best friend of 78 years, Shirley Collins. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Carl & Alta and her twin brother Robert. Roberta loved playing cards, casino trips, fishing, camping, knitting mittens and socks for her family and traveling around the U.S.A. with her husband. Observing her wishes, no services will be held. A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2 to 5 PM at her home. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Sparrow Hospice.
