Rodney L. Mott of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Olivet and Charlotte, MI, age 64, died unexpectedly on Friday November, 13, 2015 in Port Charlotte. Rod was born June 17, 1951 in Lansing, MI the son of Ivan and Patricia (Burley) Mott. He was a retired Building Contractor having owned Mott Builders and G & R Poured Walls. He was a 1969 Graduate of Olivet High School, attended M. S. U. for 1 1/2 years and served for 6 years in the Michigan Army National Guard. Surviving are: his wife of 43 years, Nancy I. (Howard) Mott; Children, Brandy Ann Mott, Ryon Lee Mott, Kellie Jo Mott and Jason Ivan Mott; and Grandchildren, Andrew Wayne Heisler, Christopher Ryon Heisler, Alexandra Lee Mott, Garrett Mott, McKenna Mott, Christian Mott and Maya Poojary; great granddaughter, Gracen Heisler; his mother, Patricia (Burley) Mott and Siblings, Terril (David) Gonzalez, Ricky James Mott, Rosetta (Rodney) Lawton, Teresa (David) Anderson and James (Kristine Angell) Mott; mother-in-law, Janette (Crandell) Howard; sisters-in-law, Maria Howard Seybert and Sherrie Howard Hewitt; brother, Terry Howard and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ivan J. Mott in 2014 and father-in-law, Wayne Howard in 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Doug Hammond officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM prior to the services.
