Ronald Grimes

Ronald B. Grimes, age 71, of Lansing, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022. He was born July 20, 1950, in Gary, Indiana the son of Horace and Mabel (Payne) Grimes. Ronald loved listening to music and enjoyed dancing whenever he could. He was known to always have a glass of Crown Royal nearby and savored it to the very last drop. Ronald had a unique sense of humor and could be slightly grumpy and very direct at times but deep down he had a heart of gold. Ronald is survived by his children, Jose Reynolds of Holt, Ronald Grimes Jr., of Denver, Colorado, Rhonda Williams of Charlotte, Antoinette James of Chicago Heights, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris; son Darcy Grimes; and daughter, Theresa Grimes-Baum. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 1 P.M. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Kirk Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing. Those desiring may make contributions in Ronald’s memory to the family to assist with expenses.
