Ronald L. Lovejoy, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and Palmetto, Florida age 90, died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Palmetto after a very brief illness. Ron was born in Blanchard MI the son of Earl and Elma Lovejoy. Ron was a machine repairman for Oldsmobile (GM) in Lansing for 31 years retiring in 1977. During World War II, Ron proudly enlisted in the US Navy to serve his country in the Pacific aboard the USS Adair, a troop transport ship. Ron was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Charlotte, MI and the Community Church at Palm Bay Mobile Home Park in Palmetto, FL. Ron was preceded in death in 2012 by the love of his life, Veralee to whom he was married for 67 years. Ron was also preceded into everlasting life by his parents Earl and Elma, and 10 brothers and sisters: Clifford, Nina, Vera, Cortes, Edna, Carl, Clyde, Robert, Laura and Wayne. Ron is survived by: his daughter, Sue (Mike) Kessler; son, Tom (Evelyn) Lovejoy and daughter-in-law, Carol Huntington and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church, 550 E. Shepherd St. in Charlotte, MI with Pastor Timothy Olson officiating. Visitation will be held at the Church beginning at 10:00 AM before the service. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing at a later date.
