Ruby Lorraine Starkweather

R. Lorraine Starkweather Charlotte, MI Ruby Lorraine Starkweather,loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Feb. 2, 2012 in Lansing, MI. She was born Aug. 24, 1936 to the late James E. and Ruby M. (Wood) Edwards in Gulliver, MI. At the tender age of 16 she married the love of her life, Enos Starkweather. They were married for 39 years before his passing in 1992. Many years ago she had been employed as a Telephone Operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. and she loved playing and listening to Organ music. She is survived by her 5 children: 2 sons, Larry and Dan (Patty) both of Charlotte; 3 daughters, Cathy Starkweather, Carla (Garry) Jones & Carol (Scott) Pruden all of Charlotte; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, James (Carol) Edwards of Florida & Steve (Kathy) Edwards of South Carolina; 3 sisters, Eileen (George) Canfield of Florida, Marilyn (Jack) Mann of Bellevue, MI & Florida & Joanne (James) Woodworth of Eaton Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents & sister, Donna Jeanne Thuma (2011). Visitation will be held from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Funeral services being held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Courtney Suntken officiating. Interment will be in the Needmore Cemetery.
