Ruth H. Brown, age 92 of Charlotte, MI, died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her residence after an extended illness. Ruth was born Feb. 19, 1918 in Springport, MI the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Kikendal) Noviss and was a longtime resident of Charlotte and had also lived at Duck Lake. She was a 1935 Graduate of Springport High School and had been a distributor for the Lansing State Journal in the Charlotte area for a few years. She had been a member of the Charlotte O.E.S., the Pythian Sisters, the Altruistic Club and had been active with her husband in the Charlotte Area Senior Center. She had served as Director of Duplicate Bridge in Rio Grande Valley, TX. Surviving are: her husband of 72 years, Max K. Brown; three children, Anita (Ken) Briggs of Charlotte, Max (Shelly) Brown of Charlotte and Bill (Darla) Brown of Williamston; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Public visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte. Private family graveside services will be held.
