Ruth Beryl Tank Eaton Rapids, formerly of Charlotte Ruth Beryl (Towns) Tank passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2012, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Ruth was born February 24, 1923 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to Vern N. and Pearl M. (Gruesbeck) Towns. She was a 1941 Graduate of Charlotte High School, had attended Acme Business College, was a member of the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church and had been a Red Cross Volunteer at Hayes-Green-Beach Hospital for many years. She married Wayne E. Tank on April 15, 1944. Together they were onion and sugar beet farmers near Eaton Rapids for many years while raising their two children, Terry and Pat. She worked at the Eaton County Farm Bureau and also volunteered at the Munson country school. Ruth will always be remembered for her quiet strength and graciousness. She enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, reading biographies, and eating ice cream with chocolate syrup. Ruth is survived by her daughter Terralene (Richard) Deer; granddaughters, Barbara (Paul) Templin, Kathlene (Chris) Burt, Aimee (Eric Rogers) Robles, all of Charlotte, and Laura (Jeffrey) Buda of Livonia; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica and Andrew Templin, Layne and Lorelai Burt, Esabelle Robles, and Penelope and Owen Buda; daughter in law, Suzanne Tank of Arkansas; sister, Esther Stark and sister-in-law, Shirley Towns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne and her son, Patrick. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 from 12 Noon until 1:00 P. M. at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte followed by a procession to Deepdale Memorial Park Cemetery, Lansing for a 2:00 P. M. Chapel committal service with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Country Acres Adult Care Home, Eaton Rapids.
