Sandra Willis

Sandra Kay Willis, age 73, of Eaton Rapids passed away on December 17, 2021, in Lansing, Michigan. Sandy was born in Charlotte, Michigan, on December 15, 1948, the daughter of Alton and Elsie (Shamp) Willis. She attended school in Charlotte graduating with the class of ’67. Sandy then went to University of Michigan where she obtained her master’s degree in counseling and guidance. Her empathetic heart endeared her to all, and she was a true friend to many people throughout her life. Sandy was always donating to others. Sometimes it was money, but more importantly yet, she donated her time and energy to help others in whatever way she could. Sandy provided around the clock care for her mother for many years of her life. She had a very special relationship with her nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt San-San” and who refer to her as the most wonderful aunt a person could ever have! Her unfailing dedication to her sister Wanda’s family will be her long remembered legacy. Sandy leaves behind her mother, Elsie Love, formerly of Eaton Rapids; sister, Wanda (Ivan) Hughes of Stillwater, Oklahoma; nephew, Ivan “Chip” (Lauren) Hughes Jr of Fulshear, Texas; niece, Christina (Andrew) Waller of Stillwater, Oklahoma; great-nieces and nephews, Peyton, Wesley, Trey, Elizabeth, Taylor; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father and her stepfather, Lewis Love Jr. Per Sandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of contributions, Sandy’s family requests that you simply do individual acts of kindness in her memory and then post as you wish on the social media of your choice.
