Scott David Merren, age 44 of Charlotte, MI, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 after an illness of 6 months. Scott was born April 25, 1966 in Eaton Rapids, MI the son of Donald and Janet (Campbell) Merren and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1984 Graduate of Bellevue High School and was employed as a carpenter for Karis Construction Co. He loved NASCAR, fishing and his friends. He was the life of the party, was the class clown and enjoyed making people laugh. Surviving are: his daughters, Amanda (James Will) Hinton of Cincinnati, OH and Bethany Merren of Ionia; grandchildren, Scott Kakaris II, Madison Will and Kendra Will; his mother, Janet Merren of Charlotte and sisters, Loretta (Mark) Lee of Saginaw, Kim (Patrick) Rounds of Lansing and Deanna Barnum of Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Merren in 2000 and his father, Donald Merren in 2003. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home, Charlotte with Rev. Darwin Kuhl officiating. Interment will be in the Kalamo Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo Township. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may go to the family to offset expenses or to the McLaren Hospice.
