Shantell Lyn Walker Cook

Shantell Lyn Walker Cook of Grandville, MI, formerly of Charlotte died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at her residence. Shantell was born Dec. 12, 1971 in Eaton County, the daughter of George and Doris (Rolfe) Walker. She grew up in the Charlotte area. She graduated from Charlotte High School and Eastern Michigan University. She married Dennis Cook and they raised one daughter, Rachel Ann Cook. Shantell is survived by: her daughter, Rachel; mother, Doris Walker; sisters, Shena (Curt) Winslow of California and Shawndee (Finley) Bolenbaugh of Dewitt and 3 nieces, Lila and Elle Winslow and Kara Bolenbaugh. She was preceded in death by her father, George Walker. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Home in Charlotte with Rev. Charles Jenson officiating. Visitation will be held also on Tuesday from 1-3 PM prior to the service. Per Shantell’s prior wishes, cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may go to the West Carmel Church, the Eaton County Humane Society or to the Charlotte Community Library.
